SID have developed a broad range of CDM training courses to support professionals in the built environment. Together with our partners, we have developed these courses to ensure those working in the construction industry fully understand their legal requirements under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
Our courses are all in-house or for third party training or client organisations to keep our costs down.
You can see an outline of typical course content.
We select high quality tutors through our Tutor Register as part of our commitment to the excellence of delivery. SID also encourages practising professionals to run workshops within their area of expertise with appropriate support as necessary.
As an Approved Centre with CELL, part of the BRE group of companies, we can design and deliver Ofqual accredited courses if you need them. We also work closely with NOCN who are the lead construction sector accrediting body and also with the University of the West of England (UWE).
Architects empowered to help architects. Engineers helping Engineers. Topic experts supported to help their community.
Come along to one of our courses and see for yourself, and if you like it apply to join our Tutor Register and run one yourself for your community.
We also deliver courses in partnership with ICE, IStructE, BRE and APS.
We work with training companies who buy Tutor time and courses from us. If you are a training company and would like to partner with us, please contact us to discuss terms.
Not limited to CDM we design and deliver bespoke content to support your project and your teams. And we promote others whose excellent training courses we recommend.

Director legal briefing
This lecture or conversation is run by a former HSE inspector who is now a defence lawyer. It is bespoke and you will need to contact us to discuss your needs. It includes examples of recent cases and information about sentencing guidelines.
If you need a course dealing with environmental legal risks or food safety legal risks the same lawyer can also help you.
BIM Manager modular course
BIM has been taught as an extension of CAD. This is useful for CAD technicians but not for those who need to work with clients to establish the Employers Information Requirements or advise of forms of contract for example. This course fills this need.
Suitable for senior, experienced staff, it covers a range of topics in modular fashion and is led by subject experts coordinated by a current practitioner who has been at the heart of developing BIM for our industry in his professorial role.
You can access the whole course or choose the modules you need.
Additional information is available on request.
Other courses and providers we recommend
Just now we are particularly recommending Sarah Fox and her expertise in construction contract law. Sarah’s approach of “Less is more” and “simplify to clarify” is exactly aligned to our approach in SID.
CDM can only be managed by our industry through contracts and formal agreements so it is important to get these right and to understand the best way to establish the project arrangements to achieve success for all.
Look at our Partners and Expert Directory to find out Sarah’s contact details.
